How to Validate/Invalidate data in TM Master

In TM Master, users require a specific user right to validate or unvalidate common data records.

For example, when viewing a Contact or Supplier record, the Validate checkbox can only be modified by users who have the CanValidateCommonData permission assigned through their User Group.

Granting the Permission

  1. Navigate to Administration > User Groups.
  2. Open the User Group assigned to the user.
  3. Select System from the list of available modules.
  4. Locate the CanValidateCommonData user right.
  5. Tick the checkbox to enable the permission.
  6. Save the changes.

Users may need to log out and back in before the new permission becomes available.

Example

A common use case is validating or unvalidating a Contact or Supplier record.

Without the CanValidateCommonData user right:

  • The Validate checkbox is visible but cannot be changed.
  • Users can view the validation status but cannot update it.

With the CanValidateCommonData user right enabled:

  • Users can check the Validate checkbox to mark a record as validated.
  • Users can uncheck the Validate checkbox to remove the validation status.

The CanValidateCommonData permission can be found under:

Administration > User Groups > System

Additional Information

The CanValidateCommonData user right applies to common data records throughout TM Master and controls whether a user can update the validation status of those records.
