Compas Admin Panel: How to Configure Nomination Approval Matrix (with AI Language Translations)

Introduction

In this training, we will discuss how to configure the Nomination Approval Matrix on the Admin Panel of the Compas Crew Management System.

This functionality is designed to assign rights to roles within the organization to propose and approve candidates suitable for promotion, depending on the rank-level configurations in Compas.

We can start this configuration by going to Admin, then clicking on Admin Panel.

Under Matrices, click on Nomination Approval Matrix.

Here, you can see the Nomination Approval Matrices that have been created by the Admin.

To add a new Nomination Approval Matrix, simply click on the green plus icon.

A new window will appear.

Enter the name of this Approval Matrix.

To make this applicable to all vessels, click Default.

You can also select the specific vessels to which this Nomination Approval Matrix will apply.

Simply click on the vessel and then click Add.

Once done, click Save.

To edit the details of the Nomination Approval Matrix, simply click on the book icon.

A new window will appear.

Here, you can see the different shipping roles, such as MO for Manning Office, CCC for Crew Change Coordinator,  VM for Vessel Manager, FM for Fleet Manager, and Registered Owner.

For example, if we want to allow the Manning Office to nominate a First Officer, Master, Chief Officer, and Second Mate, simply click on the necessary ranks under Manning Office.

To allow the Registered Owner to nominate a Master and Chief Engineer, simply click on the desired ranks.

Once all changes are made, simply go back to the Admin section.

To double-check that the changes have been made, simply click on the book icon.

Here, you can see the changes you have made to the Nomination Approval Matrix details.
