The TM Forms & Procedures module will allow managing your forms and to some extent your procedures. The system support both “manual forms” and “electronic forms”. It possible to categorise the form based on its type or topic, assigned it to one or more departments, and unit (vessel). The forms and procedures can be managed (added and modified) from the office, and the documents will be replicated to the unit systems. Filled out forms will be linked to the form template and will be replicated to the office system.
As mentioned in the introduction the system supports both what is referred to as “manual forms” and “electronic forms”, below a more detailed description of what this means can be found.
Electronic Forms
“Electronic Forms” are documents that are digitally filled out using available software and saved as a file attachment to the “forms entity”. These forms need to be created in a third-party software which is available for any users filling out the forms. (Example: “Word” and “Excel” files)
Manual Forms
“Manual Forms” are documents that has a file format that is not editable for the user either because the format does not easily edit (image files, scanned documents) or the user does not have access to programs to edit the file (only read it) IE: PDF. Some documents also might require a signature or stamp or is for other reasons required to be kept as a physical document, so word and excel files can also be considered manual forms in some cases.
Procedure (Document)
“Procedure (Document)” are descriptions only. It is not expected that the user will fill out a form either electronically or manually. It should just be accessible for review.
