Go to Compas Onboard > Cabin allocation.
Now let's go through the buttons a bit.
1st one from the top left side is a bar that will allow you to shorten, or lengthen the period of time shown on the main calendar. In some situations, allocations will be done per months, and in some per days / weeks so it's a nice tool to have:
2nd button is the planned changes drop down menu.
Note this filter will filter the already, on screen allocations, *if you don't have any allocation yet, you'll have to first allocate a crew in a period of time, then use the filter, otherwise it won't load any data.
For example, now I don't have anything in the calendar, so if I filter on Onsigners, Offisgners or Onboard, it won't show anything:
Now let's say I've allocated the captain on cabin 1:
If I choose to see the ones who are currently Onboard, the captain, who is onboard, will appear:
So when you initially start to allocate, use the "all" filter.
Next one is the Rank/Rank groups drop down menu.
Note - selections here are maintained. For example if you select the CPT, then you select C/O , and then you select one more rank from the rank drop down menu, you will have all selected, and you'll have to press again on said rank to un-select them.
The next tab is the Cabin type drop down menu, that allows you to show the cabins, per cabin type. This is the same cabin type that appears if you hover on top of a cabin on the left side of the screen.
Next one is the Crew search function, that allows you to search, for a particular crew from the entire Cabin allocation chart. For example, now I have 3 crew on the chart:
Now, I can search for either the name of the crew, or by CID, and I can filter the results, by pressing on the search magnifying glass icon.
The only two buttons left from the top bar are the arrows, this is another way of scrolling horizontally, between days / months.
In order to allocate a crew on a cabin / bunk for a period of time, you need to hold left click and drag over the period of time you want to allocate for a crew.
After you drag, a new window will open with a selection of dates, and translation in days, a drop down menu to choose the crew, lifeboat assigned to him, and any other comments master might have about the selection.
We can even see an on signer in the selection, that was what the item was all about, the new feature is that you can even plan in the future. Onsigners will have the mark "Onsigner" after CID.
Note: on-signers will appear with a distinctive color in the planning. So you can differentiate the already, onboard crew, and the future, on-signers.
In order to remove an entry from the chart, you can just right click the crew you want to remove, and press on delete allocation as follows:
You can also edit / delete an allocation, by double clicking the left click on said record:
