Configuring Pre-Employment Checks

In Compas, this feature can be found through: Crew Applications | Applications | Check application | Pre-Employment | Compas Office | Admin | General | Library configuration.

Crew Applicants can be subject to Pre-Employment checks that can be tailored for each recruitment campaign.

Configuring for Pre-Employment Checks

If Pre-Employment Checks are required for a particular campaign, these can be configured via the Pre-Employment Checks Library ADMIN/LIBRARY CONFIG/GENERAL/PRE-EMPLOYMENT CHECKS in Compas.7157cca4-3425-4471-9b8e-f88ccaf80a53.png

  1. Select :globe: to open up the Applicability Box
  2. Company, Manning Office, Owner Pool and Vessel applicability per requirement can be configured. Can select multiple entries.
  3. If a particular check needs to be mandatory, then this will need to be added to the parameter setting. Select :Edit_pencil: to edit the check. Add Y to the parameter ‘Mandatory’ and save. The system will recognise that this particular pre-employment check is mandatory and the automatic setting for this check will be ‘Pending’.

Employment Details

In the Administration Area of Crew Application, to add Pre-employment checks that have been configured in Compas, click the :edit: icon against the applicants name, this will open up their submitted application

Employment Details is an additional section in the Applicants Personal Details that is available for view by the Recruitment Team. It is here that you configure the required Pre-employment Checks based upon the configurations in Compas.914e24eb-e604-418d-82f0-8d12945fbcb2.png

  1. Drop down list is from the ADMIN/GENERAL/LIBRARY CONFIG/FLEET/CREW POOL
  2. Drop down list is from the ADMIN/GENERAL/LIBRARY CONFIG/ SOURCE CODES
  3. Drop down list is from Providers OWNERS
  4. Drop down list is all active VESSELS

Once updated, you can amend the details entered, but you cannot go back to having no entry as you will not be able to save the document. Once entered the COMPANY, MANNING OFFICE and OWNER POOL become required fields.e7900b96-c574-4c50-b6cf-d3300bb06da7.png

Mandatory Checks

Once Employment Details these have been configured, the Mandatory Pre-Employment.d862d659-a202-4628-a6ee-ec51e70a880d.png

  1. The Pre-Employment Checks relevant to the Applicant based upon the Employment Details entered and the configuration of the Pre-Employment checks
  2. If the applicant has applied for more than one recruitment campaign will show the mandatory checks of both
  3. All Mandatory checks will be shown as Pending
  4. Can see who added the Mandatory Check for that applicant when move the cursor over the pending symbol

Adding Pre-Employment Checks to Recruitment Campaign

To add further checks, click the :thin_green_cross: icon to open up the 'Add pre-employment Check box.d4ae3301-8782-4f72-b192-e97675188f6e.png

  1. Select recruitment campaign (if applicant has applied for multiple campaigns, drop down list will show all campaigns applied for)
  2. Check type, - click into box list of all pre-employment checks will show for selection
  3. Add date of application
  4. Select resolution to confirm if Pre-Employment Check has been Passed, Failed, Not Applicable or Pending
  5. Can add remarks
  6. Select Insert to add the Pre-Employment Check

  1. Checks can be amended or deleted. Documents can be uploaded
  2. Icons denote type of resolution
  3. Tool tip on Remarks will show who added the record and will show when/who made any amendments

Approvals and Pre-employment Checks
