Procedures for Vessels Ending Subscriptions with Ocean Learning Platform

Overview:

A vessel's contract with Ocean Learning Platform may be terminated for the following reasons:

  1. Vessel exiting Ship Management
  2. Vessel sold to another owner
  3. Vessel scrapped
  4. Vessel laid off or other reasons

Ocean Technologies Hardware must be returned (if applicable) or OTG Logistics will request its destruction. The OTG Logistics Team will provide instructions and a form for Proof of Hardware destruction, requiring the following information:

Vessel Name:  
HW Model:  
Serial number:  
Internal Ref:

*NOTE: Failure to provide proof of hardware destruction within 30 days post-termination will result in an invoice for Ocean Replacement Cost 1 for missing items, equal to the annual subscription price.

Remember to send last export of training data to your dedicated training address before destroying hard disk. This is in line with the GDPR regulations of protecting individual’s personal data. The rest of the computer is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.

Steps to send final Training records from the OLP Hard Drive before destruction:

Follow these instructions to export data:

- Log in to Seagull Training Administrator as an admin.

- Click "Administration" and select "Data exchange".

- Choose "Export data" and click "Next".

- Select "Export latest changes" and click "Next".

- Tick "On completion take me to the data exchange section in the task status" and click "Finish".

- Click "Download" and save the file to a portable device.

- Transfer the file to a computer with internet access.

- Create an email and attach the file.

- Send the email to your company's training address.

 

Important!

Do not rename, compress, or alter the file. Do not include additional messages in the email as it will be processed automatically

 

Methods to destroy a hard disk so data is irretrievable:

  • Using a Sledgehammer
  • By Drilling

 

  • Using a Hydraulic Jack
