Overview
This article includes frequently asked questions for crew data display on Learn Dashboard for customers interfacing crew data from Compas.
FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Why is this happening?
As part of our analytics strategy to build a robust data services foundation, we are implementing a Master Data Management (MDM) approach to ensure consistency, accuracy, and accountability of shared data across our LROO-OTG product suite.
MDM connects and maintains a single source of truth, crucial for customers with multiple product portfolio. It aligns customer data across systems, enabling a seamless analytics experience, reliable insights, and future-ready HCM analytics use cases.
What changes are coming?
In the next Learn Dashboard update, customers interfacing crewing data (crew profiles and movement events) will see listed data presented as seen in Compas:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Country of Nationality
- Rank (Current and historical acting)
- Last Seen Installation
How is this achieved?
In the Learn Dashboard, we apply logic that prioritises displaying data from Compas, based on matched Crew IDs and the Ocean Learning Entities configuration set in the Compas Admin Panel.
Do I need to do anything?
No action is required on your part. Please continue using Compas and OLP as usual.
What if there are OLP users who do not exist in Compas, how will their data appear?
If an OLP user lacks a Compas Crew Profile applicable for data sync, their data will remain unchanged and will still display as it does in OLP.
What happens with the OLP Personal Card and other front-end views and reports?
MDM will not change how data is displayed in OLP front end. Data will continue to be displayed as it configures and stored in OLP.
Will I lose any OLP records?
No, MDM will not remove or delete any OLP records.
All existing records will remain visible, with the display logic selecting the most accurate source, for example, Compas, when a match is found.
