We are pleased to announce Compas Maintenance Version 38.5.0. This includes a series of enhancements and bug fixes aimed at improving efficacy and functionality.

Disclaimer:

  • All the developments and fixes detailed in the release notes are implemented across all customer environments. However, depending on your company's settings and permissions, certain features may not be accessible or relevant.
  • If new features and tables are introduced for onboard applications, they may be exclusive to the onboard cloud.

πŸŽ‰Enhancements and New Features

[ENHANCEMENT] [COMPAS ONBOARD] [ABILITY TO HIDE CABIN AND LIFEBOAT ASSIGNMENT FROM CREW CHANGE CONFIRMATION]

  • Description:
    • A new β€˜HideCabinAllocationInCrewChangeConfirm’ parameter has been introduced to hide the cabin and lifeboat assignment from the crew change confirmation, the default will be β€˜N’.
    • The impacted pages include:
      • Compas Onboard | Crew | Planned events | Select 1 event | Details | Select crew | ConfirmPE.png
      • Compas Onboard | Crew | Crew change | Select onsigner | ConfirmCC.png
    • If 'Y' is defined in any environment, the system should hide the cabin and lifeboat assignment section (3 columns as highlighted in screenshot) from the crew change confirmation page and disable the cabin and lifeboat assignment function.
    • When confirming the crew change, ensure no extra cabins or lifeboats are added, and do not edit or delete existing cabin allocation records.

  • Description:
    • The following enhancements have been made to the address structure on the FS3 form:

  • Description:
    • On the Job Call page, the following enhancements have been made:

      • When referring to the job calls record in β€˜Sent’ state*, the ability to edit the resolution date is available. The date picker option allows you to select any date from the β€˜Request On’ date onwards.       • On the β€˜Job Calls’ listing page, the β€˜Delay’ column calculates values by counting the days between the β€˜Requested On’ and β€˜Resolution Date’. (β€˜Resolution Date’ – β€˜Requested On’ = β€˜Delay’)0721eeda-c731-45f9-b102-e506abbefd9d.png
      • If either the β€˜Resolution Date’ or β€˜Requested On’ date is blank, the 'Delay' column value returns blank.

  • Description:
    • On the Danish payslip, the registration number has been included under the employer address.

  • Description:
    • The bank file filename and date format have been modified with the following changes to avoid errors appearing.

Letter Format Change

    • All characters in the filename including the file extension have been updated to uppercase. For example:

    • Error: β€˜Invalid Filename Extension- lowercase letters not accepted in BRS-R (Example: XX68X022.pwd, XX68X1234.56z)’.

Date Format Change

    • Previously, the bank file is returned due to an error in the birthdate field due to dashes in the date format, for example, β€˜YYYY-MM-DD’.

    • Error: β€˜Invalid Birthdate Format’.

The bank files now correctly display the filename in uppercase and the date format in uppercase without dashes.

  • Description:
    • An EA Form (2025) that generates data for 2024 has been added. (Previously, the Form EA for year 2024 was not available in Compas for Malaysian nationals.)

    • Log in (Compas) | Enter Crew ID | Crew Profile | Payroll (tab) | Reports (tab) | Scroll to β€˜MALAYSIA’ section. | Click Form EA.

  • Description:
    • The Union Dues calculation has been updated with the following changes:
      • Union Dues apply only to movements that are β€˜on vessel’ type.
      • Union Dues apply only for crew under the PNG tax regime.
      • Maximum deduction is 20 USD.
      • Union Dues are calculated at 2% of basic wages.
      • For multiple movements in the same month, only β€˜on vessel’ type movements are considered.

  • Description:
    • A new parameter, CBFT_PUID_392_IBAN, has been added for EUR payments through Citi Bank.
    • The new parameter will use the format:
      • Prefix + Company Name + Currency + YYYYMMDD_HHMM_SS, instead of the current company short name.
        • In the future, it will be based on the value defined in the parameter name = CBFT_PIUID_392_IBAN_Filenameprefix + Company Name + Currency + YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.

[COMPAS CLOUD (OFFICE)] [DUPLICATE JOURNAL ENTRIES | ACCOUNT SYNC (COST ALLOCATION POSTING)]

  • Issue:
    • Journal entries were previously duplicating.
      • This happened when a payroll was reopened or closed. Closing a payroll added an item to the Cost allocation posting table (shown in Journal entries), while reopening it added a reversal item. Since the Journal entries grid does not show reversal values, duplicates appeared.
  • Reproduction steps:

  • Issue:
    • In the Compas Onboard module, after deleting the first extra crew, the β€˜Delete’ button became unresponsive. The page had to be refreshed to delete subsequent crew members, repeating this process each time.

  • Issue:
    • In the Crew application, completing the registration form and selecting β€˜No, contact me for further processing’ resulted in a β€˜something went wrong, please try again’ error.

  • Reproduction steps:
    • Crew Application | Register new crew application | Complete form and click Save. | Click β€˜No, contact me for further processing.’

  • Issue:
    • Previously, when setting up a new movement with a mandatory category, the default category was expected to display automatically. However, even with a default category set, you still had to select one manually.

  • Issue:
    • On the Job Calls listing page, the β€˜Requested By’ and β€˜Requested On’ have blank values. (You can now view the name, ID, and timestamp of the user who clicked the 'Download and Mark Sent' button for a saved job call, moving it to the β€˜Sent’ state.)
      • Requested On: The timestamp when the user first clicked 'Download and Mark Sent', moving the job call from 'Draft' to 'Sent'.
      • Requested By: The username of the logged-in user who clicked 'Download and Mark Sent'.
  • Reproduction steps:

  • Issue:
    • The configuration did not behave as expected and users were unable to hide the completed appraisal section in Compas Onboard module and show for Compas Cloud (Office).
  • Reproduction steps:
    • Log in (Compas) | Admin | Admin panel | Library Configuration | Type (Select Evaluation Settings) | Click pen icon to edit.
    • For 'EVAL_SHOW_PREV_APPR', if OB was selected as parameter 5 and the Description was set as Y, the system should hide the completed appraisal section onboard and display in crew profile for office users.
      • Parameter: Y β€“ The completed appraisals show in Compas and Compas Onboard.
      • Parameter: Y + Parameter 5: OB β€“ The completed appraisals show in Compas (Cloud) Office and NOT in Compas Onboard.
      • Parameter: N β€“ The completed appraisals do not show both in Compas (Cloud) Office and Compas Onboard.

  • Issue:
    • Some crew experienced issues with the Tax engine for Philippine statutory costs not triggering correctly. For certain months, 'Employer Contributions' were missing, although values were visible in 'Payroll Overview'.
  • Reproduction steps:
    • Log in (Compas) | Payroll | Payroll Overview | View Payroll (select an entry with Philippines tax regime) | Expand entry

  • Issue:
    • When trying to select a rank group, the option β€˜All’ incorrectly appeared at the bottom of the dropdown menu and the selection defaulted to β€˜Rank groups'.
      • β€˜All’ is the default value.
      • β€˜Rank groups’ appear as the second main block of (grouped) options.
      • β€˜Ranks’ are the third and final block of individual options.

    • Log in (Compas) | Crew | Crew onboard/signed off | Reports | Report (Select β€˜Movements within date range’ | Submit | Acting Rank (Select β€˜All’)

  • Issue:
    • When trying to edit the claim category, an error appeared in both the production and staging environment.

    • Error: β€˜Invalid Kilometer allowance rate for crew on selected date.’

    • Additionally, the same error appeared when trying to update any other field, such as β€˜Date’, β€˜Vessel’, β€˜Company’, β€˜Cost Center’, and β€˜Location’.

    • This error was present on Compas Cloud (Office), Compas Onboard, and CSS.

  • Reproduction steps:
    • Log in (Compas) | Enter Crew ID | Crew Profile | Payroll (tab) | Claims (heading) | Select entry to edit. | Select category dropdown menu to select option. | Update
  • Affected Users:

    • Log in (Compas Onboard) | Crew | E-appraisal | Crew Appraisal | (Ability to edit Self Appraisal KPI sections.)
  • Affected Users:

    • When trying to access the main β€˜Certificates’ tab, there were slow processing times resulting in time out errors. (This was due to the document verification checkmark not appearing, even though the document had been correctly verified.)
