How to Assess Crew and Officers using the Ocean Learning Platform Competency Management System (CMS)

 

Overview

The Competency Management System (CMS) is a feature of OLP that helps clients identify skill and knowledge gaps and create targeted plans to address them. Whether aiming for compliance, improving crew competence, or reducing operational risks, our CMS provides the tools and insights necessary for maintaining high performance and safety standards.

 

Below are the steps for assessors to complete and utilize this functionality for the crew onboard the vessel.

 

Log in as a standard User Chief Mate, 2E. Master or Chief Engineer.

 

Upon successful login, please navigate to Personnel --->Select Assessor Tasks

Take a look at the Guidelines for the Behaviors required for Proficiency (for instance, Decision Making).

 

 

Just click the Assess Proficiency button.

 

 

Feel free to click on whether the Proficiency is Approved or Disapproved.

 

Please also provide the Assessment Comment in the space below:

 

This result, once saved, will be accessible onshore at the Ship Manning Office for review.
