This setting can be turned on with the following checkbox under System | Settings | General.
Please note that to be able to do this, you need to have a license for the following module.
If you do not have this module, contact your Key Account Manager at Tero Marine.
This function gives users the possibility of restricting access for specific users to a specific unit group. The unit group can contain one or several vessels. This is something an admin can select in the unit group window.
When the "Unit group access control" function is activated, the user tab in the unit group windows as activated.
Using this tab, you can add users to specific unit groups. When a user has been added to a unit group, they will only be able to see the units within this unit group and be restricted from seeing other units.
- For existing user has NOT been added to any unit groups, they will be able to see all units.
- For new user created after the unit group enabled, and not been added to any unit group , they will be not able to see any unit.
Meaning new user is mandatory to be assign to the unit group.
This is to ensure that TM admin will assign user to user group whenever they create a new user.
Once this functionality is active you can also select to restrict vessel logins by activating the second checkbox.
Stopping a user from logging into the system is only relevant when the system is set as a unit installation. The user group access control functionality remains as standard when users are accessing from the office system.
Vessel users will be notified if they are not able to log in and the login process will be cancelled.
The vessel user will get the message "you are not allowed to log on to this units database due to user access restrictions which have been set by your organisation. Please contact your TM Master V2 system administrator for assistance.
Vessel users will no be able to access any vessel database in which they are not currently assigned to the unit group for.
