In Compas, this feature can be found through: Admin | System | Configure IP Address.
Compas provides the capability of manage the IP addresses that can access the system, preventing unwanted IP’s to access the system or whitelisting those trusted IP´s when accessing the system. This functionality gives the customer to configure trusted IP´s, so the users will not be logged out by the system after 20 minutes of inactivity.
The functionality is available in Admin panel under the System section:
Once the user is in the screen, following actions are available for her/him:
- The description of the IP as has been entered in the system
- IP description
- To show disabled IP (please refer to setting of IP explained below)
- Expired (please refer to addition of IP explained below)
- Status of the IP (please refer to addition of IP explained below)
Please note that default behaviour for IP (Current default action) is Allow. This allows all incoming requests unless specifically blocked. To change the status of the system default behaviour please contact with Operations team in Ocean Technologies.

Dealing with Related IP Problems
When the system detects that any user is trying to access the system and has failed after the determined number of attempts set in the Password Policy, system will automatically block the IP address. This is a problem with the Onboard module, as the vessel has a unique IP, so if any crew member tries to get access and uses all the tries with no success the system will be not accessible as the vessel IP is locked.
In those cases, there is a chance the Master will call the office, and the solution is to mark the IP as Allow and Enable. Once this is done, the vessel will regain access.
Similar approach when any user does the same with crew self-service application.
