How To Assign Crew

This article describes how to assign crew to a vessel.

If crew are visible onboard but their status is still listed as active, you can manually assign them onboard by using the vessel admin login.

To assign crew:

  1. Log in to the OCEAN application with an Admin user account.
  2. Expand Personnel and select search personnel.
  3. In the Search for bar, type the crews ID or Name.
  4. Click Show advanced search for additional options such as rank.
  5. Click Search.
  6. Once the relevant crew has been selected, click Sign on/off.
  7. In the Current service record pop out window:
    1.  In the Position dropdown menu, select an option.
    2. Select a Sign-on date and a Sign-off date.
  8. Click Confirm assignment.

Once the assignment has been confirmed, the crews’ status will now be listed as onboard. This also enables crew to log in onboard.

 

Note: If you do not have the Sign on/off option, your office will manage the sign on/off records via your internal crewing system.
